PAD LONDON 2026: GEORGES LENFANT x DURAZZO

A French jewellery house founded in 1899, Georges Lenfant has been led by two designers over the course of a century: Georges, followed by his son Jacques (1904–1996), who designed over 30,000 models.

At the height of his art, in the late 1960s, Jacques Lenfant invented the Optical collection, transposing Vasarely's formal vocabulary and the principles of Op Art onto the scale of jewellery. The contrast of textures, brushed versus polished gold, matt versus glossy, creates effects of movement and optical illusion that come to life when the piece is worn.

For this edition of PAD London, DURAZZO, specialising in 20th-century European avant-gardes, notably known for presenting the work of female Surrealists such as Leonor Fini, Dorothea Tanning and Leonora Carrington, brings Georges Lenfant's jewellery into dialogue with some of the great names of Op Art. An immersive stand, conceived as a total work of art, designed to bring out the kinetic qualities of both the jewellery and the artworks on show.

In order to distinguish itself spontaneously from the original historical creations, Georges Lenfant has chosen not to reproduce anything identically today. The contemporary pieces are set with diamonds, accentuating the effects of contrast and light, and are available in yellow gold, rose gold and platinum.
